BOYS NIGHT OUT
Meetings for 2010
Due to having our own child friendly office space now that you can visit anytime for information - we believe that monthly 'meetings' aren't really necessary . Sparing you the boring process of listening to minutes and board procedure! Our elected Board holds monthly sessions that you are welcome to attend and put forth any concerns or ideas you have. All our members are notififed of these sessions in advance.
We are happy to advertise other groups and their meetings such as NQASG , CHIPS and Premi Playgroups just to name a few .
The Umbrella Network instead hosts 'GATHERINGS' for like-minded families and any health professionals in the following groups:
AUTISM
EPILEPSY
ADD/ADHD
DOWN SYNDROME
GLOBAL DEVELOPMENTAL DELAY
RARE CHROMOSONE DISEASES
WE URGE YOU TO JOIN UP AS A TRIAL MEMBER SO THAT YOU RECEIVE THE DATES FOR THESE MEETINGS. THEY WILL BE PUT ON THIS WEBSITE HOWEVER YOU MAY NOT CHECK IT REGULARLY AND MISS OUT!

Dear Parents / Carers,
MyTime is starting up for 2010. Our first session will be Monday 8 Feb @ Cerebral Palsy League, 9:30 – 11:30. No need to ring ahead, just show up on the day!
(CP contact details in Resource drop down section)
We have been running for well over 6 months now and have been looking at ways to inject more fun and activities into our group. We are in the process of putting together an activities list for semester 1.
Some ideas that we are looking at are:
Massage (again...by popular demand!),
A movie outing,
1st Aid course,
Scrapbooking
Information sessions: behaviour management, self care and
Information sessions from therapists: Occupational therapist, Physiotherapist, Speechie.
Birthe is continuing on as our Play Helper (which is wonderful news for the children, parents and myself!!) and will continue to provide fun and interactive games and activities to occupy the children, whilst the parents/carers have some well earned ‘ME time’!!
We also would like to invite new members to our group. So, if you’re looking for some time out or a way to meet new people, who understand some of the challenges and rewards that come with raising a child with special needs, please contact me for more information.
Some words from one of our members: “I have been attending " My Time" sessions regularly for a few months now and have found it to be great as I now know I'm not alone in this journey. At My Time we share our ups and downs and celebrate our milestones in a fun and friendly way and I have enjoyed the activities. Come and meet other parents in similar situations who understand the need for child free time.”
Regards,
Corinna
