Who works at QHLFSS?
All of the Family Support Facilitators have extensive experience in Social Work, Psychology and counselling. They can assist you with practical concerns, offer information about hearing loss services and point you in the right direction.
Counselling can happen over the phone, at your home or in an office. We are a confidant and non judgemental service that’s aims to empower families to cope with the challenges of parenting a child with a hearing loss.

CHILDREN WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT PARENT SUPPORT

Hello all 'Children with Hearing Impairment Parent Support' (CHIPS) members, incuding the Newbies!
Our next CHIPS meeting is on Wednesday the 24th of Feb, at the Aitkenvale Macdonalds (Behind Stockland) Party Room, from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. We will have a list of agenda items, but these meetings are very casual. A great chance to meet new parents, and to talk to experienced parents who have many years of experience in parenting children with a hearing impairment. (Also a great place to get a coffee and ice-cream while the kids play together in the playground!)
Our CHIPS meetings will be the last Wednesday of every second month (except when it hits a school holiday) - so we are looking at:
- 28th April
- 23rd June
- 25th Aug
- 27th Oct
- and something for Christmas. We hope to have a few socials and guest speakers throughout the year.
